Everyday more companies are turning to social media to expand their business and reach larger markets. The average salary ranges from $34,432 to $56,571. If you spend a lot of time online like I do, and you use social networks daily, you're already on the path to becoming a social media expert! Do not get me wrong, it's not easy work. Full-time marketing managers can work 35+ hours a week updating, blogging, conferencing, speaking, engaging with customers and more. If you think you have what it takes, take a look at this list and make sure you're putting every one of the steps into action if you aren't already.

1. Manage your time wisely- One of the biggest mistakes newcomers and even some seasoned marketers do is unwisely manage their time. Make sure the time you spend on social networks is moving your business and your brand ahead. Bubble Safari is a great game, but it's not putting money into your bank account. Do not get into the habit of being lazy. You will never make it as a marketer or anything else for that matter if you do.
Take some time out at the end of each night and schedule the next days activities. Then when you wake in the morning you'll be primed for whats ahead. If scheduling every day is too much for you, create a weekly schedule that coincides with your daily routine. Social networking become much easier when you make it a habit
2. Start blogging- If you don't have a blog already you need to make one immediately. This is a way for you to promote your brand, product, business or even yourself. Because sites like Blogger and WordPress are very reputable, Google indexes these sites very high.
Blogger offers an easy to use interface equipped with ready to use template designs. Start blogging about things relevant to your industry and you could very quickly be considered an "expert" in your field. A blog is an essential tool in the social media expert's tool bag.
3. Learn how to use SEO "Search Engine Optimization"- Along with blogging, this is another essential tool for social media experts. When you use SEO techniques you can dramatically increase the volume to your website. Some SEO experts get tens of thousands of dollars to implement these techniques for larger firms. However, a lot of it is easy to implement if you have some good resources.
I like to use Google Analytics to help me optimize my websites including this one! The keyword tool allows you to track and compile list of search keywords related to words in your blog posts. Check out Google Analytics and do a Google search for "SEO techniques", trust me, their a wealth of information there than can and will be game-changing when you put it to use.
4. Use Google Adsense- Google Adsense is a flexible and easy tool that allows you to post ads on your blog that are relevant to your posts. Google Adsense has over 2 million users worldwide. It allows you to create your own ads and publish them across Google's many platforms as well as post other's ads on your blogs as a way to monetize your own efforts. I personally love Google Adsense. It's the simplest way to make money now if you already you already have a blog that gets unique visitors. That goes for Tumblr and other sites that allow users to modify their pages. If you aren't already, get on the Google Adsense gravy train today!
5. Learn from others that do it already- Network, network, network! Learning good techniques and strategies from other social media marketers is an invaluable tool in your path to making money using social media. The posts I have here as well as those from others will help you really learn how to put all the things together. It will take some work, but if you really dedicate yourself to learning new techniques and putting them to use, there's a market out there that needs you. Are you ready to answer the call?
