Some helpful tips to get people to your Facebook page

By: Edward Hayes

These are a few tips that should help you generate more exposure to your Facebook pages.

1. Use photos and videos to catch people's attention-

We've all done this. We get on Facebook, scroll down the page, ignore half the stuff we see, like a few pictures, check out some of our friend's statuses, then get offline. For online marketers, this gives you a very short span of time to attract attention to your page. If you want to hold their attention for even a short while you need more than just words. A picture is worth a million words in our digital society. Fans want to see how you did it, not just hear about it. If you post a photo or video, fans get a real chance to interact with you online. I've noticed that for some reason, people interact much more with photos and videos than any other content online. Now that you know this, put it to use!

2. Make all your posts positive and inspirational-

Don't use Facebook as a tool to discuss all that's wrong in your life like so many do. Negative posts adversely affect fans perceptions of your page. You also lose customer trust when you display negative statuses, photos, and updates. Just imagine a company many trust, like Starbucks, updating statuses about low sales and disgruntled employees. Negativity posts make people question your character and integrity

On the other hand, when you use your Facebook page to inspire and enlighten your fans, you will be surprised at what is delivered to you. Inspiration quotes, motivational photos and videos lift people up higher and create positive emotions, therefore generating more positive feelings towards your page and more trust in your words. Remember, when you project positive emotions and clarity of purpose people will come to aid you in fulfilling your dreams.

3. Use social media management tools-

I like to use Hootsuite and TweetDeck to help organize my social networks as well as scheduling future posts. As I wrote about in How to make money using social media, time management is a most essential tool in social networking and marketing. Both Hootsuite and TweetDeck allows users to manage their Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and foursquare accounts from one dashboard. I personally love these tools because they allow me to easily and much more effectively manage my time. I like to schedule posts for when I'm driving home or in a meeting. These tools also allow you to reply, comment, retweet, share, and even check your page stats directly from the app! If you have more than one network, start using Hootsuite or TweetDeck to start leveraging your time better.

A word of advice- When using these social media management tools, it's tempting, but resist the temptation to post to all your networks at once. People will unfollow, unlike, and hide your posts from their news feeds if they feel you're spamming them. No one likes to get online and have 20 notifications from the same person. This especially applies when you have your social network accounts connected to one another.

Instead of spamming, schedule your posts in intervals. This works most effectively when you know what time the majority of your friends are online. The highest volume of people are on Facebook in the morning and right before bed time. Schedule your posts to coincide with these times and as well as using the tips from above and you'll definitely see more people interacting with your page.

4. Make your Facebook page your social media hub-

We all post pictures, statuses, and other content that generate lots of feedback on our personal profiles. One of the best techniques I've used to get more people to my Facebook pages is posting highly viral content to my page, instead of my personal profile, then liking and sharing the content to my timeline as well as the timeline of a few friends. When you have people working in connection with you this process works even better.

Every time a friend likes the content from your page, it increases your page's reach (reach is a metric used to determine how many users have viewed your content or saw something from your page). New page likes are the best way to increase your reach and the best method to get more likes is to gain user's trust, use word-of-mouth, and keep posting quality/viral content.

Use your Facebook page to share your latest blog post, inspire your audience with a positive quote, upload a photo or video that engages your fans, and most importantly, gain your user's trust. Get to know what your fans and followers likes and dislikes are, who they follow, and what they do. Facebook offers great insights about the people who connect with your page, such as age and demographics, all of which are free. Once you know who your fans are, start tailoring your statuses and updates and fulfill their needs.

I'm confident the tips and strategies listed here will pay dividends for you, but let me know what you think. please comment and share in the discussion. Have another blog? Ideas that may help? Post it here and keep the conversation going!

Well wishes on your pursuit of greatness..

1. To make money blogging you must first have page viewers

Okay, you just created a blog and you want to make money. Well, you're going to need some people visiting your page to get some traffic flowing. The easiest way to get people to come to your site is to  create new posts on your blog about the most recent news in your niche. Our society feeds on new information. If you want to make money blogging you have to give your viewers a reason to come back.

2. Blog about the most recent news everyday

Find new relevant information from credible sources around the web. As soon as the news breaks, start blogging immediately. As the news is breaking, depending on what you're blogging about, tens of thousands of people are online all searching for the same thing. Your page will undoubtedly be found since you will be one of the first people to report the news.

I see so many bloggers that don't cash in on this cash cow.

If you're at home blogging about politics, turn on the news. There's always something new happening in the world that you can be cashing in on. Use Twitter to find relevant information in your industry. If you blog about sports news, follow insiders like Adam Schefter to get the latest news before any one else does. If you're not already doing this you need to start today. Make sure you don't steal in the rush to get your posts out there, you will incur serious consequences.

3. Monetize your page!

Unless you're just promoting yourself or your brand, you need a way to make income from your blog. It's very simple to start. Google Adsense allows users to post ads on their blogs and start generating income from sales generated through those referrals. As more and more people come to your page to get recent information, your proceeds will increase. If you already have an established blog with many viewers, adding Google Adsense will become invaluable to you. If you provide products or services to customers, integrate your PayPal account onto your blog and allow customers to purchase directly from your blog! There are many ways to monetize your page. How to make money using social media

Some good techniques on how to make money using social media

Everyday more companies are turning to social media to expand their business and reach larger markets. The average salary ranges from $34,432 to $56,571. If you spend a lot of time online like I do, and you use social networks daily, you're already on the path to becoming a social media expert! Do not get me wrong, it's not easy work. Full-time marketing managers can work 35+ hours a week updating, blogging, conferencing, speaking, engaging with customers and more. If you think you have what it takes, take a look at this list and make sure you're putting every one of the steps into action if you aren't already.

1. Manage your time wisely- One of the biggest mistakes newcomers and even some seasoned marketers do is unwisely manage their time. Make sure the time you spend on social networks is moving your business and your brand ahead. Bubble Safari is a great game, but it's not putting money into your bank account. Do not get into the habit of being lazy. You will never make it as a marketer or anything else for that matter if you do.

Take some time out at the end of each night and schedule the next days activities. Then when you wake in the morning you'll be primed for whats ahead. If scheduling every day is too much for you, create a weekly schedule that coincides with your daily routine. Social networking become much easier when you make it a habit

2. Start blogging- If you don't have a blog already you need to make one immediately. This is a way for you to promote your brand, product, business or even yourself. Because sites like Blogger and WordPress are very reputable, Google indexes these sites very high.

Blogger offers an easy to use interface equipped with ready to use template designs. Start blogging about things relevant to your industry and you could very quickly be considered an "expert" in your field. A blog is an essential tool in the social media expert's tool bag.

3. Learn how to use SEO "Search Engine Optimization"- Along with blogging, this is another essential tool for social media experts. When you use SEO techniques you can dramatically increase the volume to your website. Some SEO experts get tens of thousands of dollars to implement these techniques for larger firms. However, a lot of it is easy to implement if you have some good resources.

I like to use Google Analytics to help me optimize my websites including this one! The keyword tool allows you to track and compile list of search keywords related to words in your blog posts. Check out Google Analytics and do a Google search for "SEO techniques", trust me, their a wealth of information there than can and will be game-changing when you put it to use.

4. Use Google Adsense- Google Adsense is a flexible and easy tool that allows you to post ads on your blog that are relevant to your posts. Google Adsense has over 2 million users worldwide. It allows you to create your own ads and publish them across Google's many platforms as well as post other's ads on your blogs as a way to monetize your own efforts. I personally love Google Adsense. It's the simplest way to make money now if you already you already have a blog that gets unique visitors. That goes for Tumblr and other sites that allow users to modify their pages. If you aren't already, get on the Google Adsense gravy train today!

5. Learn from others that do it already- Network, network, network! Learning good techniques and strategies from other social media marketers is an invaluable tool in your path to making money using social media. The posts I have here as well as those from others will help you really learn how to put all the things together. It will take some work, but if you really dedicate yourself to learning new techniques and putting them to use, there's a market out there that needs you. Are you ready to answer the call?
